Boracay Through My Senses

Being a beach and sunset lover, it's hard to decline an invitation from my cousins to have a late summer getaway to Boracay - one of the world's top destinations.

Coming from different origins and mode of transportation, we arrived in Caticlan almost at the same time. The jetty port was crowded as expected, but queuing was never a problem since the port has already an established system.

Many people say that Boracay is too commercialized and crowded nowadays. It's true on my first impression of the island. I've been to other white sand beaches and islands and I've been used to the feeling of laid-back life whenever I go to such places. But as we explored the island, I could say Boracay has everything to offer people from all walks of life - powdery white sands, crystal clear blue water, food from local to foreign cuisines, an array of resorts  to choose from, entertainment, good nightlife for party-goers, adventure, captivating sunsets, and more.

People who are into adventure can try these water sports:

We've tried flyfish and the experience was worth the muscle sore!!! :)

For party goers and food trippers, Boracay has an array of bars and restaurants along the shoreline of White Beach, mostly at Station 2.

Sailing and island hopping are few of the things to do in Boracay.

"Paraw"

Spotted a "paraw" sailboat nearby and  parasailing activities from afar as we were on our boat for island hopping

It's so relaxing to walk barefoot on the beach with fine, white sands. Truly powdery!

I'm truly fascinated by Boracay's powdery white sands and crystal clear water.

Nothing can be more serene and soul-soothing than
 - hearing the sound of waves as I see them kissing the shore
 - feeling the waves touching my ankles and the fine grains of sand on my feet

If one wants to experience tranquility, opposite to the crowded White Beach is the secluded Puka Beach.  It is in the northern part of Boracay Island.  Its sand is not as powdery as the sand in White Beach.  It has a mix of Puka shells, that's how the beach got its name.

One of the reasons why I wanted to set foot in Boracay is to watch its breathtaking sunset.

There's a lot more to explore in Boracay.  The only limitations are budget and time.
